Abstract

PURPOSE:To separately and arbitrarily set integrating times for respective photodetective elements by reading the charge signals stored in the respective photodetectors sequentially based on an output address determined by an address deciding means. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup device main body 1 is constituted of a shift register 2, an analog shift register 3, charge detection circuit PX1-PX5, integration clearing gates IG1-IG5, NAND gates G1-G5, and a charge shift gate SHG. The shift register 2 determines output address supplied to the integration clearing gates IG1-IG5 for reading from photodetectors PX1-PX5 based on group integrating time information GP that separately determine the integrating times of the detectors PX1-PX5. Based on the output addresses, charge signals stored in the detectors PX1-PX5 are sequentially read via the analog shift register 3.
