Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress moire in a reproduced video signal by executing a frequency conversion to be applied at the times of recording and reproducing by using a signal that relates to the video signal. CONSTITUTION:A video signal from an input terminal 2 is processed successively in a clamping circuit 4, an emphasis circuit 6, an FM modulator 8, a comparator 10, a band-pass filter 12, a frequency conversion means 14, a band-pass filter 16, a comparator 18, and a recording amplifier 26, then supplied to a recording head. In the means 14, the signal is multiplied which is shaped as sine wave via a band-pass filter 15 from a video signal of 6fsc synchronized to color burst which is obtained from a voltage controlled oscillator 52. In the FM modulator 8, the FM modulation is so executed that a signal related to the video signal and part of an FM modulated video signal corresponding to a synchronizing signal coincide positionally with each other. And at the time of reproducing, the signal is time-base-corrected by using the said part of the FM modulated video signal.
