Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the misinput and at the same time to omit the extra software type processes caused by the misinput, by setting the light emitting and light receiving elements opposite to each other so that the light beams of at lest three directions pass through the coordinate direction pointed by a light shielding matter. CONSTITUTION:It is supposed that both areas C1 and C2 are pointed by a light shielding matter at one time on a CRT 101 of a touch panel device. In this case, the X axis direction of the area C1 is specified by an LED 6b and a photodiode 8b with the Y axis direction specified by 2f and 4t respectively. Furthermore the infrared rays are shielded in the 45 oblique direction at the parts between 3g and 5a as well as 3h and 5b. While the X and Y coordinates of the areas C2 are specified by 6e, 8e, 2d and 4d and the beams are shielded in the oblique direction at a part between 3h and 5b. Here an area D1 where the misinput so far occurs are specified by 6b and 8b as well as 2d and 4d for the X and Y coordinates respectively and the beams are not shielded in the oblique direction at both parts 3e and 7e as well as 3f and 7f either. In the same way, the X and Y coordinates are specified in an area D2 and the beams are not shielded in the oblique direction at both parts between 9a and 5d as well as 9b and 5e either. Thus it is not decided mistakenly that the beams are shielded at four points C1, C2, D1 and D2 respectively.
