Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a foamed pottery product having excellent flexural strength readily and inexpensively, by molding a sintered mixture containing a cement, a pottery material and water into a lamellar shape, attaching a sintered mixture containing a blowing agent to the surface, expanding, hydrating and setting the cement and sintering. CONSTITUTION:A cement (e.g. Portland cement) is heated and sintered to give a pottery material (e.g. frit), which is blended with water and molded into a lamellar shape having desired thickness. Then in an unset state, a mixture containing the cement, the pottery material, a blowing agent (e.g. aluminum powder) and water is attached to the surface of the molded article in desired thickness expanded, the cement is hydrated and set in the expanding state and the molded article is aged in such a degree that the molded article can retain its shape by itself. Then the prepared premolded product is sintered and set to give a foamed pottery product having a foamed layer.
