Abstract
PURPOSE:To dispense with a spacer and to lower costs by providing step difference at the front part of a core beforehand, directly fixing a ferrite center chip to the gap of the core, applying resin into the step gap, bonding and hardening it, and then executing a grinding down to the step difference part of a tape scanning surface. CONSTITUTION:Step differences 3a and 3b are provided at the front part beforehand so as to be symmetric respectively. After a bobbin 2 is incorporated into a magnetic head core 3, ferrite center chips 51 and 52 are sandwiched into a gap G, which possesses the step differences 3a and 3b of the front part of the magnetic head core 3, and the ferrite center chips 51 and 52 are fixed to the gap G with adhesives. After the confirmation that the ferrite center chip is fixed to the gap G, an epoxy resin is applied from the inside of the magnetic head core, and molded. After the completion of the molding, the front part is ground down to the depth, in which the scanning surface of the magnetic tape arrives at the step differences 3a and 3b, polished and finished. Thus, the adhering manday of the spacer is dispensed with, and the costs can be lowered.
