Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb and deodorize body fluids and to simply incinerate the same, by mainly constituting a sheet-like article of a liquid absorbing/holding substance having combustibility and coating the surface of said sheet-like article with a deodorizing substance. CONSTITUTION:An effective liquid absorbing/holding substance is formed by using a substance having combustibility such as pulp, paper or a vegetable fiber as a base material and coating the surface thereof with a highly water- absorbable resin and, as the highly water-absorbable resin, a resin obtained by crosslinking an electrolyte polymer having an ionic group is designated. The surface of the combustible and water absorbable sheet-like article thus obtained is coated with 0.1-500g/m<2> of a deodorizing substance. As the deodorizing substance, a flavonoid type compound as a natural substance is used and, as a substance other than the natural substance, a mixture of a polycarboxylic acid compound, an iron salt and citrate is used. As a means coating the sheet- like article with the deodorizing substance, immersion, spraying, roll coating or gravure coating are used.
