Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a picture pattern to be thermally transferred from a thermal transfer paper, by using a polyester resin water dispersion having specific hydrophilic group in a molecular of a polyester resin and a water dispersion of a polyester derivative modified by a compound having specific unsaturated bond. CONSTITUTION:A polyester water dispersion having at least one hydrophilic group in a molecular of a polyester resin is prepared. The hydrophilic group is selected from among polyethylene glycol, hydroxyl, carboxyl, carbonyl, cyano, amino, methylcarbonyl, carboxylate, sulfonate, sulfate salt, phosphate salt, quaternary ammonium salt, and the like. A coating agent is composed by mainly containing the aforesaid dispersion and a water dispersion of a polyester derivative modified by a compound having unsaturated bond. In this manner, if the coating agent is selected with the confirmation of its adhesion to a substrate, thermal transfer properties to the substrate can be obtained.
