Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an organic conductor which can be widely applied in the field of electronics, by electrolytically polymerizing an organic conductor based on a specified organic polymer. CONSTITUTION:An organic conductor based on an organic polymer of the formula (wherein l is 1-6, m is 0-2, and R is a 1-6C linear alkyl, and n is 10-300) is produced by an electrolytic polymerization process comprising immersing a working electrode and a counter electrode in a solution formed by dissolving a polymerizable monomer such as an aromatic compound and a supporting electrolyte for applying a current in an organic solvent such as propylene carbonate, and applying a current across the electrodes. As the solvent, acetonitrile, propylene carbonate or nitrobenzene is particularly desirable. The polymerization temperature is preferably 0-10 deg.C, and the current density is preferably 1-55mA/cm<2>. The polymerization is preferably carried out in a polymerization atmosphere of an inert gas such as nitrogen or argon.
