Abstract
PURPOSE:To form an SiO2 film excellent in adhesion and durability on the surface of a primarily formed film on the board irrespective of the unevennesses of its surface, by bringing a plastic molding having a primary film formed thereon by applying a silicon compound thereon and cuing under a specified condition into contact with an SiO2-supersaturated hydrosilicofluoric acid solution. CONSTITUTION:A primary film is formed on a plastic molding (e.g., a plastic disc for an optical disc base) obtained by molding polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate or the like by dip-coating it with a coating fluid of a concentration of 0.5-5wt.%, formed by dissolving a silicon compound (hydrolyzate) of the formula [wherein R<1> is a 1-6C hydrocarbon group, vinyl, methacryloxy, epoxy, NH2, SH, F- or Cl-containing organic group, R<2> is at least one bonding group selected from among an alkoxy(alkoxy), acetoxy and Cl, and n is 0-4] in a solvent under conditions for forming a film of a thickness of 5-100nm on a glass substrate. This plastic molding having the primary film is brought into contact with an SiO2-supersaturated hydrosilicofluoric acid solution to form an SiO2 film on the primary film.
