CONSTITUTION:In recording operation, a signal coincident with the frequency of the vertical synchronizing signal of a video signal is generated by a control signal generator 13 and an extremely high frequency signal is generated by a pilot signal generator 15, applied to an AC head 10 through a superposing circuit 16 and a recording amplifier 11c, and recorded on a specific track on a tape 1. When reproduction is performed, on the other hand, a capstan motor control part 23 controls the capstan motor 21 so that the period of the 0-cross point of the input superposed signal is constant.
