Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the tracking accuracy of a magnetic head juxtaposed with optical reading detectors to ferrite cores formed with a magnetic gap and to stabilize the operation thereof by providing thin ceramics films on the slider surfaces of the parts except the ferrite core parts. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic heads provided with the optical reading detectors of a light transmission type are disposed on both faces of such a flexible magnetic disk FD which is provided with an optical pattern for tracking in the part inner than a magnetic recording medium layer. The surface of the thin ceramics films 5 in a light emitting part T except the surfaces of the ferrite cores 2 and the surface of the thin ceramics films 6 in a light receiving part R constitute the slider surface. Since the slider surface is constituted of the transparent thin ceramics films 5, 6 having the wear resistance characteristic equiv. to the wear resistance characteristic of the ferrite cores 2, the wear of the magnetic head is obviated even if the magnetic head comes into sliding contact with the surface of the magnetic disk FD. Enhancement of tracking accuracy is facilitated as well.
