Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain sealing material, bearing material and the like, each of which has excellent slip characteristics and improved durability, by a method wherein seamless and annular covering materials, each of which is integrally formed out of stretched ultra-high-molecular-weight polymer, are passed onto a core material so as to lie the covering materials to the core material by shrinking the covering materials by heating. CONSTITUTION:Each annular covering material is produced as an integrally formed item by punching or machining uniformly stretched ultra-high-molecular- weight polymer. The covering materials 3 are passed onto a core material 1 and fastened in grooves 2. Next, the covering materials 3 are shrunk by heating so as to fit them in the grooves 3, resulting in obtaining a polymer- covered body.
