Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable easy replacement of an adsorption body and increase moisture retaining effect by separating the adsorption body in a cap member into the first adsorption body which is caused to get into contact with a recording head and the second adsorption body which conducts recording liquid absorbed into the first adsorption body, and assembling the adsorption bodies having changed hygroscopicities. CONSTITUTION:Recording liquid in a recording head 1 is circulated by a recording liquid pump 5 and the recording liquid with increased viscosity is discharged with bubbles from an orifice 2. Surplus recording liquid sticking to the neighborhood of the orifice is blown off to the side of the first absorption body 20 by ejection of air from an air jet nozzle 10, and is discharged into a discharged liquid container through the first adsorption body 20 and further the second adsorption body 21. The first adsorption body which easily deteriorates is freely detachable and partly replaceable in simple manner. Further, surplus recording liquid can efficiently be discharged from near the orifice by using the first adsorption body which can discharge liquid efficiently and the second adsorption body having high hygroscopic property.
