Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having excellent mechanical properties, chemical properties and thermal stability at a low cost, by supplying a spinneret for the production of composite fiber with a polyethylene terephthalate component as the 1st component and a polyolefin component as the 2nd component and carrying out high-speed spinning of the polymers. CONSTITUTION:A spinneret for the production of composite fiber is supplied with the 1st component composed of polyethylene terephthalate or its copolymer and the 2nd component composed of a polyolefin (e.g. PE or PP) or its copolymer having a melting point of >=115 deg.C, preferably >=120 deg.C and the polymers are spun at a spinning speed of >=1,500m/min, preferably 1,500-5,000m/min to obtain the objective thermally stable fiber having an initial stretching resistance of <=40g/d, an elongation of >=100% and a boiling water shrinkage of <=20%.
