Abstract

PURPOSE:To preclude dew condensation due to a temperature difference from atmospheric temperature by constituting an optical unit by putting optical elements which constitute the optical system of a light beam scanning device in a housing. CONSTITUTION:The housing 12 which contains the optical elements constituting the optical system of the light beam scanning device is covered with a heat generation body 14 and this housing 12 is covered with a heat insulation member 16. Then the temperature in the housing 12 is held within a temperature range wherein no dew condensation is caused at all times after the light beam scanning device is installed. Consequently, no dew is formed on the optical elements in the optical unit 10 even if the atmospheric temperature varies abruptly while the light beam scanning device is in scanning operation or not in the scanning operation.
