Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent excess input to a repeater by adopting incorporated structure to an antenna and a variable gain amplifier to vary the gain of the antenna thereby adjusting the gain of antenna without replacing the antenna, an attenuator and an amplifier. CONSTITUTION:The titled gain variable antenna consists of an antenna 1 of fixed aperture, a gain variable amplifier 2 incorporated with the antenna 1, and a gain control circuit 3 controlling the gain of the gain variable amplifier 2. Through such constitution as above, a signal received by the antenna 1 is amplified by the variable gain amplifier 2 and the result is outputted. In such a case, the gain of the antenna 1 is controlled to be a proper value by the gain control circuit 3. Thus, the gain of the antenna is adjusted and excess input to the repeater and the receiver is prevented without replacing the antenna, the attenuator and the amplifier during transportation or at a place where it is transported.
