CONSTITUTION:An AE (ultrasonic) sensor 24 is set at a connection 22 of a power cable 20 and the state of detection thereof is supervised with a monitor 36 through an AE monitor 34. For example, it is assumed that a ground fault 38 is caused between connections B and C. An AE sensor 24 mounted to connections 22 of B and C detects an AE wave. Thus, from the results of the detection, the occurrence of a fault can be detected between the connections B and C.
