Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable an image to be repeatedly displayed on a display member without resupplying ink, by a method wherein an ink image is formed by applying a specific energy to fluid ink, which is transferred to the indication member to display the image. CONSTITUTION:A voltage of a pattern state according to an image signal from a recording electrode 5 is impressed to an ink 2 which is formed in a fixed thickness layer state on a surface of an ink ductor 1 to be transferred. Cross- linking structure due to an electrochemical reaction in the ink 2 varies, and selective tackiness is given the ink 2. The ink 2 joined by the tackiness reaches a transfer position and is transferred onto a display member 7 rotating on the tackiness to form an ink image 2a on a surface of the member 7. The ink image 2a transferred onto the display member 7 is carried with rotation of the member 7, and the ink image 2a can be visually observed through a display window 10a at that time. The ink image 2a further moves with rotation of the display member 7, and the ink is removed from the indication member 7 with a cleaning member 8 to be accepted again in an ink container 3.
