Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a ball detector hardly affected by external light and hardly stuck with refuse by forming curved face sections at the opposite base end portions of both arm sections of a casing, inserting translucent members into them to form window sections, and arranging a light emitting element and a light receiving element on the back side of them. CONSTITUTION: This ball detector 11 is constituted of a hollow and nearly U-shaped casing 16 extended with a first arm section 13 and a second arm section 14 nearly in parallel from both the right and left end sections of a base section 12 having an opened back face and formed with a ball transit section 15 slightly wider in width tan the ball diameter between them, a substrate 17 storable in the base section 12 and made of an insulating plate, and a light emission section 18 and a light reception section 19 including an electric circuit and protrusively fitted on the right and left. The light emission section 18 is provided with a light emitting element 20, and the light reception section 19 is provided with a light receiving element 21. An opening section 13' is formed from a first plane section 22 toward a first curved face section 24, and a first translucent member 30 is inserted into it. An opening section is likewise formed from a second plane section 23 toward a second curved face section 25, and a second translucent member 32 is inserted into it.
