Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a high bleeding-preventive effect in use of an ink jet system and achieve textile printing of a sharp and clear pattern irrespective of the material and structure of a dishcloth to be dyed or the kind of a dye or pigment in an ink, by incorporating specified amounts of an alkyl cellulose and a plasticizer into the dishcloth. CONSTITUTION:The amount of an alkyl cellulose is 0.5-50wt.% for a dishcloth to be dyed, whereas the amount of a plasticizer is 1-50wt.% for the dishcloth. An addition of the plasticizer to the alkyl cellulose causes changes in various physical properties. For example, the affinity of the alkyl cellulose for water is lowered, absorption of an ink into the dishcloth is retarded, and bleeding is prevented. Namely, the joint use of the two kinds of compounds is essential to prevention of bleeding and to achievement of textile printing of a sharp and clear pattern. When a dye- or pigment-containing ink is applied by an ink jet system and a fixing treatment is carried out, a sharp and clear pattern is fixed to the dishcloth without bleeding.
