Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the localization of discharge arc so as to reduce the ununiformity of the brightness of a lamp by connecting shorter side walls of respective flat bulbs through a connecting tube to construct a continued discharge channel so as that the both apertures of the connecting tube are projected to the middle portion of the respective flat bulbs. CONSTITUTION:Shorter side walls of respective flat bulbs 1 are connected through a connecting tube 2 to construct a continued discharge channel, and the both apertures of the connecting tube 2 are projected to the middle portion of the respective flat bulbs. The discharge arc has characteristics to pass through the minimum part in the discharge channel and to be produced in the vicinity of the apertures of the connecting tube 2 in the flat bulbs 1, therefore by projecting the apertures of the connecting tube 2 to the middle portion of the respective bulbs 1 the discharge arc is produced in the central portion of respective flat bulbs, so that the whole bulbs can be brightened to eliminate the ununiformity of the brightness of the lamp.
