Abstract

PURPOSE: To reproduce an external magnetic field which is generated at a railroad crossing by forming a frame body to the shape for which a pair of the actual rails and stringing are presumed.
CONSTITUTION: The frame body 10 of a roof shape consists of a pair of rail corresponding parts 13 which have the spacing corresponding to the width between the rails of a tramcar and a stringing corresponding part 15 which is connected via transition parts 14 to the rail corresponding parts and exists in the position corresponding to the height of the stringing of the tramcar from the rail corresponding parts 13. The rail corresponding parts 13 and the stringing corresponding part 15 consist of aluminum which is a nonmagnetic material. The transition parts 14 are made of steel which is a magnetic material to prevent the leakage of the magnetic field generated from a coil 11 to the outside. The DC magnetic field is generated in the coil 11 in the progressing direction of the automobile or in the direction opposite thereto when the electric current from a power supply 12 is passed to the coil 11. The magnetic field distribution of this time is the same as the external magnetic field at the railroad crossing. The influence of the external magnetic field at the crossing on a bearing display device to be mounted on a car for which the terrestrial magnetism is utilized is exactly investigated by using a vehicle body magnetizing device and changing the magnetization condition of the vehicle body.
