Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a copper plated steel plate having good workability and excellent weld cracking by hot rolling a steel slab having specific compsn. to which a small amt. of B is added, cold rolling it under specific draft ratio, thereafter annealing said slab at the recrystallization temp. or above and applying the same to a continuous copper plating treatment in succession. CONSTITUTION:The steel slab contg., by weight, 0.01-0.15% C, <=0.1% Si, 0.05-0.60% Mn, 0.003-0.10% Al, <=0.015% P and 0.0004-0.004% B is hot rolled and cold rolled at 50-90% draft ratio. Said slab is then annealed at the recrystallization temp. or above - <=800 deg.C. The obtd. steel strip is passed into a continuous type plating apparatus and is applied to copper plating. B added to the steel is useful for preventing the weld cracking of the steel plate.
