Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide dimming to suit the characteristics of human visible sensitivity by finishing a charging circuit consisting of a resistance and a capacitor, taking the power thereto at a voltage vididing point for the supplied voltage, and obtaining a dimming signal through comparison of a charge/discharge signal of a charging circuit with a setting signal as reference to the dimming. CONSTITUTION:A charge/discharge signal of a charging circuit 1 is fed into comparators 2, 3 and given to the neg. input terminal of a third comparator 5, and to its pos. input terminal a dimming setting signal is given. A constant current power supply is formed from a mirror circuit consisting of resistances R8, R9, R10 and transistors Q2, Q3, and its voltage is changed by a variable resistor VR1 to yield this dimming setting signal, and it is connected with the variable resistor VR1 and a parallel capacitor C2. As a dimming signal the output signal from the comparator 5 lights up a cold cathode fluorescent tube 7 with an inverter circuit through a transistor Q4.
