Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the recovery time of a nonself-erasable type switch by a method wherein a high-voltage power source is subjected to voltage double rectification by means of a boosting transformer which is driven by an inverter, a first reactor, a first capacitor and a diode. CONSTITUTION:A high-voltage power supply is constituted of a boosting transformer 11 which is driven by an inverter 10, a first capacitor 13 and a diode 15 in such a way that the output voltage of the transformer 11 is subjected to voltage double rectification and the output voltage is inputted in a thyratron 20 which is used as a nonself-erasable type switch. That is, the output of the inverter 10 is charged in the capacitor 13 through the transformer 11 and when the inverter 10 is inverted, the charge stored in the capacitor 13 is superposed on the output voltage of the transformer 11 to charge in a second capacitor 18 for charge. After that, by making the switch 20 turn-ON, the charge stored in the capacitor 18 is supplied to a discharge tube 19 for a laser and discharge is generated in the tube 19. Thereby, a security of the recovery time of the switch 20 can be contrived.
