Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify an article feeding construction without the need of any additional special stopper by using an article receiving mechanism both as an upwardly and downwardly movable article receiver and a stopper for the article upon upward movement. CONSTITUTION:CPU 371 selects the size of packing papers 400 based on the stored data predetermined according to the length, width and height of an article 500. The article 500 is conveyed by the guidance of both article guide plates 40 and brought to a stop by contact with a front article mounting rod 124 remaining in the top position of an article receiving mechanism 109. Upon the movement of the mounting rods 112, 117 and 124 on the article receiving mechanism 109 from the top to the bottom position thereof by operating a main motor 355, the article 500 is conveyed to above the article mounting rods 112, 117 and 124, brought into contact with an article stopper plate 163, moved upwardly along the same and the upper surface 501 of the article 500 is forced into contact with the packing paper 400 held between the upper and lower conveying belts 22 and 23 of each of oppositely positioned belt conveying portions 8 on a packing paper carrying conveyor and ready to receive said article in a packing portion 37 so as to raise said paper 400.
