Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A fluorine-containing phenone based compound expressed by formula I (R is lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:2-Chloro-4,5-difluoroacetophenone. USE:Useful as an intermediate for synthesizing benzoic acid and further as an intermediate capable of driving to a quinone carboxylic acid useful as synthetic antigerm gent synthesized by well-known reactions having several steps. PREPARATION:1-Chloro-3-difluorobenzene expressed by formula II is reacted with a carboxylic acid chloride such as acetyl chloride or a carboxylic anhydride such as acetic anhydride in the presence of an acylating catalyst at 0-200 deg.C, preferably 10-150 deg.C to provide the compound expressed by formula I. The acylated catalyst includes Bronsted acid such as AlCl3 or HPOF2 and used at an amount of 0.1-500mol.% based on the compound expressed by formula II. The reaction temperature is 0-200 deg.C, preferably 10-150 deg.C.
