Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a firm adhesive strength, by placing refractory fibers between materials having different thermal expansion coefficients and bonding the materials with an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of substances having different thermal expansion coefficients are bonded, e.g. an iron plate 2 is bonded to ceramics 1. In the process, refractory fibers 3 are placed between the two kinds of materials so as to be almost at right angles to the adhesive surface. One end of each refractory fiber 3 is bonded to one of the materials with an adhesive 4 and the other end of the refractory fiber 3 is simultaneously bonded to the other with the adhesive 4 to link the two kinds of materials through the refractory fibers 3. Thereby, since the refractory fibers act as a mediator between the two kinds of materials, neither stress concentration on the central part of the adhesive nor peeling will occur.
