Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a weft knitting machine, which produces a position at which thread guide movement is stopped by adding a given correction value to the needle selection position at the final point in the carriage running direction, in order to facilitate preparation of the thread guide data, while excluding possibility of error. CONSTITUTION: This weft knitting machine is provided with a memory 3 which stores various types of data, those for thread guide movement to be supplied to a thread guide unit 1, correction data for helping the thread guide stop at a proper position, and those for needle selection to be supplied to a needle selection unit 7. It is also provided with a CPU 2, sensor 4, corrector 5 and interface 6, which are responsible for outputting the thread guide movement data from the memory 3 at the beginning of each course, determining the needle selection position at the final point in the carriage running direction from the needle selection data stored in the memory 3 for each course, determining a position at which movement of the thread guide is stopped by adding a correction value to the needle selection position, and outputting the data for the thread guide movement stopping position.
