Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate machining as maintaining necessary strength by making a connecting cylinder part integrally formed with a bracket in a complicated three dimensional shaped curved lines by means of utilizing the bracket for supporting a shock absorber also for frame connection and by making the bracket of a sheet metal. CONSTITUTION: A pair of right and left brackets 10 for supporting shock absorbers are made of a sheet metal by respectively welding the periphery of two sheets of plate together. A motorcycle frame is made by integrally forming a pipe-shaped cylinder 10c curved in a three dimensional figure with the sheet metal bracket 10 with the rear end of a sheet rail 8 fitted and welded to one of the ends of the cylinder 10c and the rear end of a back stay 9 fitted and welded to the other end of the cylinder 10c. By making the bracket 10 integrated with the cylinder 10c with a sheet metal, the number of part items of a frame 1 can be reduced and the cylinder 10c can be facilely machined to the curved line of a complicated three dimensional shape. In addition, by making the cylinder 10c in a pipe shape, rigidity of the bracket 10 can be raised and necessary strength can be maintained.
