Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the safety of a variable speed generating system by setting a response speed to the relation where power control > guide vane opening rationalization control > speed control, in case of the generating system in which an induction generator is driven by a water turbine having a guide vane. CONSTITUTION:Driving an induction generator 1 by a water turbine 2, the induction generator 1 supplies to its secondary winding 1b an AC excitation current regulated in its phase by a secondary excitation control unit 3. In this way, variable speed operation is performed so as to output AC power of frequency equal to an AC system 4 from a primary winding 1a. In this case generating a target rotary speed in accordance with an operative condition to be compared with the actual rotary speed in a speed control unit 16, a guide vane opening correction signal DELTAY is output, and this signal DELTAY is added to a rational guide vane opening instruction Ya by an addition part 21 so as to generate a guide vane opening control signal. When this control is performed, a response speed is set to the relation where power control > guide vane opening rationalization control > speed control.
