Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve electromagnetic conversion characteristics by projecting electron rays of low energy to a magnetic layer to cure only the surface layer at the time of impressing a perpendicular magnetic field thereto, then impressing a horizontal magnetic field to the magnetic layer and projecting electron rays of high energy thereto to perpendicularly orient only the surface layer and providing a horizontally oriented magnetic layer to the lower layer. CONSTITUTION:The thin layer of only the surface layer is first formed rapidly as the perpendicularly oriented magnetic layer by projecting the electron rays of low energy having small transmittability thereto in the state of impressing the perpendicular magnetic field to said layer in order to orient the magnetic layer after coating of a liquid prepd. by dispersing ferromagnetic powder into an org. binder polymerizable by the electron rays and a solvent. The deterioration in the smoothness by the flocculation of the magnetic particles is prevented. The horizontal magnetic field is thereafter impressed to the magnetic layer or the horizontally oriented magnetic layer is provided by projecting the electron rays of the high energy having the large transmittability at the time of the impression, by which the improvement in the electromagnetic conversion characteristics is enabled. The medium which has the excellent recording and reproducing characteristics not only in a high range but also in a low range is thereby produced.
