Abstract

PURPOSE:To properly restrict an X-ray radiation field without using an X-ray irradiation cylinder even when a shape changes, by providing a radiation mask driving means for driving the radiation field mask of an iris mechanism when the size of a pressure plate is detected by a pressure plate size detection means so as to become the iris opening part determined corresponding to the size of the pressure plate to restrict the radiation field. CONSTITUTION:The size of the pressure plate 6 selected corresponding to the adaptation region of the breast of an examinee is detected only by inserting the shaft 11 fixed to the support 10 of the pressure plate 6 in the shaft insert hole 8a provided to the mount part 8 of an arm support 1 to fix the same to said insert hole 8a. The radiation field restricting masks 15-17 of the iris mechanism 14 provided on the irradiation port side of an X-ray tube 5 are driven by motors 19, 24 so as to be moved in the wall-of-chest direction and the nipple direction to automatically set the X-ray radiation field corresponding to the pressure plate.
