Abstract
PURPOSE:To safely cool in a cryogenic zone by forming a first closed cycle including a decompression liquefaction cycle and a gasification cycle, and a second closed cycle including an isentropic expansion cycle with neon as operating fluid. CONSTITUTION:High pressure neon from a centrifugal compressor 1 passes through an after-cooler 2 and a multi-fluid heat exchanger 3a, and, after diverting part of it to a turbo expander 4, passes through heat exchangers 3b, 3c. It, then, is partially diverted to go through the isenthalpic expansion in a J-T valve 5a, and returns to the intermediate stage of the compressor 1 after passing through a gas-liquid separator 6a and the heat exchange of both the gas and liquid phases of it. The remaining high pressure neon fluid passes through heat exchangers 3d, 3e, goes through the isenthalpic expansion in the J-T valve 5b, and returns to the compressor 1 via the gas-liquid separator 6b. This way, a large scale cooling in a cryogenic zone lower than using liquid nitrogen can be safely performed with a less amount of low pressure operating fluid circulation amount by using a centrifugal compressor.
