Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a reflecting mirror which is reduced in weight and has high accuracy without having nonuniform molding strains and thermal deformations by using a material having cylindrical hollow parts as a core material, adhering a fiber reinforced (FRP) plate to both faces thereof and forming a reflecting film on the surface of this FRP plate to serve as a reflecting surface. CONSTITUTION:The core material 1 consists of the material having the cylindrical hollow parts 11 the axial line of which is in the thickness direction. This material is made into the construction in which for example, many cylindrical moldings 12 are arrayed and are joined by an adhesive agent 13. All the moldings 12 are formed of FRP. The FRP plates 2 are adhered by an adhesive agent 3 to both sides of the core material 1 so as to close the cylindrical hollow parts 11 to form sandwich structure. The reflecting film 4 is formed on the surface thereof to serve as the reflecting surface thereof. Since the mechanical and thermal characteristics in the intra-surface direction of the core material 1 are isotropic, the generation of nonuniform deformations is obviated. Since the density is small, the FRP reflecting mirror having the lightweightness, high rigidity and high accuracy is obtd.
