When the AC power source is alive, the voltage of the capacitor C1 is low, but if there is no AC voltage, it becomes equal to the voltage of a battery B. Thus, when the power source is alive, the output of an operational amplifier O1 is of H level. The output of an operational amplifier O2 connected to the output of a photosensor cds becomes H level when it is dark. Accordingly, the output of an FF made of NAND gates N2, N3 is set to L level when no power interruption occurs and it is dark. The output of an AND gate A2 becomes H level when power is interrupted and it is dark. Therefore, an emergency lamp Lp is put on when the power is interrupted and it is dark, but if the lamp is interrupted before power interruption, the output of the NAND gate N3 becomes L, and the emergency lamp is not put on.
