Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable recording, print density of which is kept constant at all times, by providing a means measuring the optical reflection density of test-recorded form, a means comparing the optical reflection density with optical reflection density in reference form and a means correcting the quantity of coloring. CONSTITUTION:When a test switch is turned ON, a test pattern is printed regardless of recording data, O.D. values are measured at every color by optical reflection density measuring sensors 31, 33, 35 and 37, and reference optical reflection density data and measured values are compared with each other. There is no difference in each color at O.D. values when a reference recording paper is used, but correction values are arithmetically operated because different values are acquired when other recording paper is used, the correction values varying applied voltage are determined at every color, and these values are written and set gradually to an O.D. correction table 27. When these values are written to the table 27 once, the table 27 records a test pattern, and controls an output from a head driver 24 so as to output the correct O.D. value so far as recording paper of the same kind is employed. Accordingly, correct recording printing in specified density can be conducted to various recording paper at all times.
