Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent two sheets from being fed at a time, irrespective of temperature, by roughening at least a part of the face and back sides of a thermal transfer recording sheet. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording sheet comprises a base sheet and a receiving layer for receiving a dye transferred from a thermal transfer sheet when being heated, and at least a part of the face and back sides of the sheet is provided as a rough surface. With this construction, thermal transfer recording sheets can be obtained which are free of the trouble of two sheets being fed at a time in the case of automatic paper supply to a thermal printer. The base sheet may be a plastic film, a synthetic paper or a cellulose fiber paper. To provide the rough surface at a part of the face side of the thermal transfer recording sheet 1, the receiving layer 4 is provided on the face side 2 of the sheet 1, leaving a non-image-forming part 3 with a predetermined width along the periphery of the face side 2, and the non-image-forming part 3 is made to be the rough surface 5 by embossing rolls.
