Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic, having feeling of use with excellent smoothness, moistness, etc., and capable of exhibiting excellent stability, by blending a spherical organic composite clay mineral powder containing water-swellable clay mineral and organic substance soluble in an organic solvent with other ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic obtained by blending a spherical water-swellable composite clay mineral powder containing a water-swellable clay mineral, such as montmorillonite, beidellite or hectorite, and an organic substance (e.g. oil, such as myristyl lactate, having emollient effects, oil-soluble coloring matter, perfume or ultraviolet ray absorber) soluble in an organic solvent (especially preferably prepared by spray-drying an aqueous solvent dispersing the water- swellable clay mineral and dispersing the resultant spherical water-swellable clay mineral in an organic solvent containing the organic substance dissolved with other ingredients.
