Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a Zn film as a thick base layer on the surface of an Al material before the formation of a Zn diffusion layer having superior corrosion preventiveness, by immersing the Al material in a zincifying bath having a specified compsn. for a short time and by supplying electric current to the Al material in a bath having the same compsn. CONSTITUTION:When a Zn diffusion layer having 1-5wt.% Zn concn. is formed in 30-300mum thickness so as to improve the corrosion resistance of a heat exchanger made of Al, etc., a Zn film of at least 0.5-8.0mum thickness is formed on the surface of the Al material and the Zn is diffused in the Al material by heating as usual. In order to form the Zn film on the surface of the Al material, the material is zincified by immersion in a zincifying bath contg. 5-15g/l ZnO, 50-150g/l NaOH and 3-10ml/l brightener such as aminoaldehyde at 20-35 deg.C and >=5sec and electric current is supplied to the Al material in a bath having the same compsn. to electrodeposit a Zn film of 0.5-8.0mum thickness with superior adhesive strength.
