Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the printing of a sharp and beautiful copied image having high resolution at a high speed with a high-performance copying device for which a liquid crystal valve and optical fiber bundle are used by using multiple optical fibers which have a square outside circumferential shape and have many light transmission parts in a sea part as the optical fiber bundle. CONSTITUTION:A light signal generating part which is the main part of the copying device is constituted of a photosensitive part 41, a light source 42, the optical fiber bundle 43 having a special structure, a shutter window 44 of a liquid crystal panel 45, and a convergent bar-shaped lens array 46. The optical fiber bundle 43 having the special structure in this constitution is constituted of the plastic multifilament optical filaments having the nearly rectangular outside circumferential shape as shown in the figure 52. These filaments are arrayed closely over the entire surface of a light exit end face. The optical fiber bundle is made into the sea and island structure disposed with the light transmission island parts having 25-200mu diameter in the sea part in such a manner that the quantities thereof are 100-3,000 pieces. The total sum of the core sectional area of the island components is specified to >=50% of the total area and the fiber bundle is formed to the rectangular outside circumferential shape.
