Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily and rapidly detach a leaf spring from optical connectors without exerting excess pressing force thereto by using pins for supporting the optical connector, an arm which moves up and down horizontally and a pressing force generating mechanism, etc., to constitute attaching/detaching means for the leaf spring which brings the respective contact surfaces of the optical connectors in pressurized contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 16 of the leaf spring attaching/detaching device 10 is retracted and a lever 15 is positioned horizontal at the time of removing the leaf spring 8 mounted on the optical connectors 4, 5. The two pins 17 of the arm 13 of the device 1 are then inserted into the gap delineated between respective curved parts 8c at both ends 8a of the leaf spring 8 and the end faces of the connectors 4, 5 to support the inside at both ends of the leaf spring 8 from the lower side. The cylinder 16 is then extended to exert the upward force to the arm 13 and the arm 13 is moved upward by a slider 14. Both ends 8a of the leaf spring 8 are correspondingly detached from the end faces 4c, 5c of the connectors 4, 5 to release the detention of the connectors 4, 5. Only the weights of the arm 13, the lever 15 and the cylinder 16 are then exerted to the connectors 4, 5 and the exertion of the excess force to the connectors is obviated.
