CONSTITUTION:While the information signal is reproduced from a recording medium, that is, while the recording part of a tape is reproduced, the rotation speed of a rotating magnetic head 2 controlled by the first servo system so that the reproduced frequencies of the information signal may conform to the reproduced frequencies at the time of the ordinary reproduction. When the reproducing information signal from the recording medium does not exist, that is, when the non-recording part of the tape is reproduced, the rotation speed of the rotating magnetic head 2 is calculated from the number of the rotations (or frequencies) of a rotation driving system (for example, reels 15 and 17) by the second servo system, and the rotation speed is controlled based on a calculated tape scanning speed.
