Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent extra variation in tension of a billet and to obtain good quality billets by controlling acceleration and deceleration of a casting speed and a rolling speed by a common speed command to a continuous casting machine and a hot rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:Both acceleration and deceleration are concurrently performed in the same manner and no excessive tension or compression is applied to a billet because speed control for both a continuous machine 20 and a hot rolling mill 30 is performed by output signals generated by a single speed commander 1. A rolling mill speed is corrected when a billet pull-out speed changes by any cause and operation of the mill 30 and quality of a rolled stock 40 are not affected because a rolling speed is corrected by detection of an actual speed in the inlet side of the mill 30.
