Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a molded timing belt under a high pressure and enhance its tensile strength by setting a reinforced fiber band over a cavity in a metal die, pinching it by the die, and then performing molding. CONSTITUTION:A reinforced fiber band 12 woven from warps and wefts of Aramid fiber is set over the cavity 20 of a metal die 10. Aux. fiber bands 24 whose warps consist of polypropylene fiber, are placed on both sides of this reinforced fiber band 12. Thus molding is performed in the condition that metal dies 16, 18 are placed one over the other and the two types of fiber bands 12, 24 are pinched. This constitution enables molding under high pressure and enhances the tensile strength.
