Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the life of a belt used in a belt conveyor for susceptible material such as sheets of paper by allowing the cogs of the belt having cogs on its both side edges to mesh with the gears of geared pulleys, and by running the belt. CONSTITUTION:Geared pulleys 2 are provided at both ends of conveyor rollers R1, and a belt B1 is equipped with cogs 8 at the two side edges. The pulleys 2 and gears 22 shall mesh with the cogs 8 of the belt B1. When the conveyor rollers R1 are rotated, the rotation of the geared pulleys 2 is transmitted to the belt B1 through meshing of the gears 22 with the cogs 8, and thus the belt runs. This enhances the life of the belt, and accomplishes stable running at a constant speed.
