Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of an inversion amplifier of the gain for which high accuracy is required, by using a clamping circuit. CONSTITUTION:The titled unit is provided with a second CCD 12 to which a signal of N bits is inputted, and a first CCD 11 to which a signal which has been delayed by a 1H portion against said signal is inputted, and outputs of the CCDs are inputted to a common clamping circuit 15 through pre-amplifiers 13, 14 and switch means SW1, SW2, respectively. A signal component of the first CCD 11 is clamped to a clamp level, and a signal component of the second CCD 12 is inputted to the clamping circuit 15, by which a fluctuation portion of the clamp level can be extracted as a signal portion which has subtracted the signal component of the first CCD 11 from the signal component of the second CCD 12. In such a way, the subtraction of an output of the CCD device can be executed by a simpler constitution which does not use an inversion amplifier.
