PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and to efficiently convey sheet materials by performing an image forming process through a sheet material conveying route on which the sheet materials are conveyed almost perpendicularly and linearly, and positioning the sheet material conveying route in front of a device main body with respect to a means processing images on the sheet materials. CONSTITUTION:The process forming images on the sheet materials S is performed on the sheet material conveying route on which the sheet materials S are conveyed almost perpedicular and linearly. The sheet material conveying route is positioned in front of the device main body 1 with respect to the means processing images on the sheet materials S. Namely, a cassette 9 housing the sheet materials S is placed on the upper part of the device main body 1, and a feeding roller 10 feeds the sheet materials S from the top in order one by one toward the front of main body 1. Thus the sheet conveying member, and its driving means, etc., can be concentrated and arranged at the inner front of the device, and a small number of parts can efficiently convey the sheet materials.
