Abstract

PURPOSE:To adequately attract a work by providing a releasing coil for affecting a magnetic flux of reverse direction to that of a permanent magnet to a pair of main poles of a flat plate state. CONSTITUTION:Main poles 3a, 3b are formed of a soft magnetic material in a flat plate state, and clamped by clampers 4 at a mounting base 1. Permanent magnets 6a, 6b and a yoke 7 are clamped by clampers 8 having nonmagnetic bolts 9 and nuts 10. Releasing coils 11a, 11b are so disposed as to affect magnetic fluxes of reverse direction to those of permanent magnets 6a, 6b to the poles 3a, 3b. Then, a bypass yoke 16 and a spacer 17 are clamped by the clampers 8 to the poles 3a, 3b. The magnetic fluxes by the magnetomotive forces of the magnets 6a, 6b are divided into the magnetic flux passing the yoke 16 and the magnetic flux passing a work 21. Since a gap between the contact faces 5a, 5b for generating attracting forces and the work 21 is narrow, a large attracting force is generated.
