Abstract
PURPOSE:To stably perform tracking control at the time of recording, by providing a first gain control means and a second gain control means which change the levels of the detecting signals of two sub laser beams detected by a three- beam method. CONSTITUTION:The two sub laser beams reflected on an optical disk are detected by the photodetectors 3a and 3b of an optical detector 3 of sexenary split, and a signal obtained at a first detection amplifier circuit 10 is inputted to the first gain control means 12, and the signal obtained at a second detection amplifier circuit 11 is inputted to the second gain control means 13. Those first and second gain control means 12 and 13 change the gains of input signals by the ratios of resistors 12a and 13a, and variable resistors 12b and 13b, respectively, when switching means 12c and 13c are turned ON by a control signal from a CPU that is the control part of an optical disk recording and reproducing device. In such a way, it is possible to set the levels of two detecting signals at the same level in a recording and a reproducing operations, thereby, stable tracking control can be obtained.
